Paediatric Occupational Therapy services

When a child is experiencing difficulty with daily tasks such as play, self care or school activities, an OT will work with the child and family to help the child improve their performance.

In collaboration with the family and the health care team, OTs assess a child's level of function. A thorough assessment is performed using modern standardized tools, along with thorough observation and interview with the primary caregivers.

A treatment plan is then developed to address identified difficulties. Intervention will include support for caregivers to help the child throughout the day and to support learning and development of skills in other settings such as kindergarten or child care, or school.
